Darn, yes! That 3 XP came in from a prequel run through Murder at the Excelsior Hotel (and it is a fun card :). A Magnifying Glass or a Fingerprint Kit would be standard hand slot choices at 0 XP. In this deck, I started with a Flashlight instead because those two went to Joe.

Oh hang on, I got the card cost and XP mixed up. The The Black Book is 0 XP, so it should be ok for a starting Carolyn 0 XP deck. But I might be missing something.
