This deck is designed to be a solid solo deck, to go toe to toe with the enemy while not tying up your hands with big weapons and to give you plenty of options and power ups as you play.

For clue gathering it has plenty for a guardian, while favoring wild icons to give you flexibility when you need to pass a test elsewhere. Perception, flashlights, take the initiative, Unexpected courage, streetwise, and Mr. Brown.

For monster fighting you have a variety of firearms, vicious blow and Overpower. You can also pay for an escape through streetwise when Leo really needs to. Until you Upgrade out of them, Guard Dog and Survival Knife also work great together.

Because of the nature of his ability Leo prefers expendable allies. All of the ones included here have an expiration built into them. Once they are down, use them up as quickly as possible.

Unlike a lot of other Guardian builds this deck usually is not hurting at all for resources. With Gregory, Emergency Cache, and your Mauser’s chipping in to add to your cash on hand.

Don’t forget that your Venturers can resupply your flashlights as well as your guns. It’s also no bad thing to stick a Reliable on your Flashlight.

When upgrading I tend to spend my first 6 experience as one chunk, gaining back the cards I replace with Reliable and Galvanize immediately. Plus Mists of R’yleh, which can been worth its weight in gold for Leo and his low Agility score.

Upgrading your Mausers and taking Custom Ammunition is key in making your one handed guns effective against the latter game monsters in many campaigns. So don’t put this off for too long if you expect to fight many.

Solo Strategy

Actions are at a premium when you play true solo, so cards like Galvanize, Police Badge (which synergies with Mr. Mori nicely) feel good. Swift reload, Mists, Gregory Gry, Mauser, Guard Dog, Survival Knife, etc. All do work between the beats. In fact there are only a few cards that are not building you up aside from the actions you are taking. So make sure you are not forgetting to collect on these bonuses as you play.

How do you get clues? Or find time to play 19 assets?

How to get clues with this deck:
To get clues this deck relies on the steady bonuses of Flashlight, augmented with Reliable and resupplied with Venturer. Additionally, it has 6 Skills that can be used to augment Leo's 3 Intellect.
How to play so many assets:
This deck has 8 assets that can be played without taking an action using Leo's ability. The need to have a weapon in hand is crucial for Leo, with his low Agility, which is why there are 5 weapon options to start. This seems a reasonable amount for necessary assets with limited charges.
