Built as a 4 player flex, this version of Leo can't be trusted to pick up all of the clues, nor save anyone's life from the monsters from beyond. Crowbar and Machete are fine early game, but not great. Late game, they are outclassed by everything else. The reason they make it to end game levels of XP build is because they are the backup plan.
Gain clues: Agency Backup and Field Agent can do this as a swift. Detective Sherman, and Grete Wagner can do this as a reaction. Deal Damage: Agency Backup and Beat Cop can do this as a swift. Alice Luxley can do this as a reaction. Do it yourself: Use Dakota Garofalo to move to the enemy location and engage it. Use Police Dog to get a bonus to your attack or investigation.
Have an enemy that you can't deal with? Use Hit and Run to drop Detective Sherman into play as a fast. Calling in Favors is not a fast, so when you play it, Detective Sherman will have to soak some damage, but that lets him pick up a clue. Calling in Favors resolves, search the top 9 of your deck for an ally that will be of more help, and get a 4 resource discount. Finish your turn, and Detective Sherman is not still in play, so Hit and Run has nothing to put back into your hand.
