This deck has a key include from Essex: Art Student. This is a great card for Roland because it gives him a clue plus 2 horror soaks for just 2 resources. It goes well with the Guard Dog because you will be using all your allies to readily take damage/horror and you won't feel bad about keeping them around.
Otherwise, this is a no-fluff deck full of premium cards and without a bunch of marginal includes. The Deductions in this deck are primarily to help your partner when he is investigating.
It only has the Machetes and Roland's .38 Special, so mulligan hard for one of them OR the Old Book of Lore. Note that the Guard Dogs act as a type of ersatz weapon if you don't get one early.
Once you get xp, transition to using Charisma and the upgraded Beat Cop so you can bring out your Art Students without worrying about stepping on your Beat Cop's toes.
