Hopefully this is a good ‘all-round’ Jim build. There’s several options to build a lucrative resource engine to fuel his Fire Axe, several static boosts, doom mitigation for David Renfield (and Blood Pact in later scenarios), and lastly all of the intellect icons.

Jim is going to be better off womping on stuff, than evading, so upgrading into Song of the Dead will prolly be one of my first moves. Experimenting with Charisma could be interesting. Of course, if the experience is flowing, replacing the flashlights with Grotesque Statue is always a good move... Other than that, just doing straight forward upgrades (in classic Mystic fashion) of your current cards will increase your efficacy... and risk...

Good Luck!

I'm not a huge fan of fire axe, because it eats all of your money to be effective, which you also need to buy your expensive assets, maybe Dario will take care of that for you, though he will tend to stall your tempo. There's no perfect answer, how do you find this plays?

Heya! If I may suggest a few corrections to this deck, or maybe just what I find works best with Jim: 1. You really should focus more on spells and less on weapons, while Fire Axe works, you really don't want to play it without Uncage The Soul for spells. It's a great weapon, but when you get stuck on a high fight creature with 3 or more health you really need some other means of damage and you can't play it without resources. If you want to use a weapon, it's usually smart to get a few combat pips in, Overpower is usually great. You can always try Machete or .45 with skill cards, maybe you'll even like them more than axe, which is by itself an amazing weapon, but not without its flaws, and one is that it usually allows just one strong swing. But yeah, with mystics Uncage the soul is such an amazing card which allows you to not get stuck and 3 resources is very strong. 2. Try to focus your allies. Do one or the other, or both, but not 3 things. That's inconsistent and you don't want that. I see where you're going with Dario, but trust me, he's hard to make work in anything else but rouge and even there you usually have better options. It could work with Alchemical Transmutation, but that you need to build your deck around. In general, Dario is a card you can build your deck around and can be very strong, it's just not a filler card. But on the other hand, Madame Labranche is a perfect fit for Fire Axe build, even allowing you fun combos and more hits, sometimes even an extra card. If you feel you need more resources, then focus on David, he's strong, sometimes overpowered, sometimes hard to use. But definitely can work. If you need more spells, then use Arcane Initiate. You usually want 2-4 allies to help you and fill the strongest slot, so do use them. But one thing I noticed in solo is that I really like 3 different spells to have options, so then you can essentially forget about Initiate entirely. Mists Of R'Lyeh is a very strong evade and free move card, while also very cheap and has a lot of charges. It can work very well since you have your Axe anyways, so sometimes you won't even need Shrivelling and will have many options with investigating locations with Flashlight and Rite, fighting with an Axe and running away with Mists. You definetelly don't need to kill all the monsters and if they aren't hunters, don't have doom or victory points you can just evade and move away and forget them for free. 3. If you have Painkillers and Shrivelling I say use Fearless. It's 1 pip and only 1 horror heal, but that adds up quickly, especially with trumpet and is a very underappreciated card. It essentially adds 2 sanity OR health with Painkillers combo. 4. Dark Prophecy while being a bit underwhelming, can be insane on ye olde Jimmy, sometimes almost guaranteeing success. Try it and you'+ll see. 1 mana too, so it goes extremely well together with Axe and Madame Labranche. Also for that combo Forbidden Knowledge works wonders, essentially giving you 2 resources per turn with Madame. 5. This similar deck usually works much better with Agnes the bomb, while Jim can be a great support with the right cards. But yeah, you want to use Jimmy and I can respect that. For ALL mystics and people that cast spells and can use it, put in Holy Rosary or St. Hubert's Key (Rosary in your case, since you don't want very expensive cards, but on the other hand the Key gives intellect which can go hand in hand with Flashlight), essentially giving you free stats and horror tank and in some cases even asset to discard to nasty treacheries that force you to do that sort of thing. So yeah, that's my 2 cents on the matter, hope I could help you :)

@jimjamculver I’ve only got a couple scenarios under my belt, but so far I’ve noticed that this deck works pretty fast. I’m with you on Dario I’ve tried to use him couple times, but ended up just using Calling in Favors on him to get David Renfield out. I may swap him out for another copy of the Eschatologist. As far as Fire Axe, I personally love it and I feel like it’s adding to the speed of the deck. The deck as a whole is working all right so far, but this is my first Jim deck annnd I made it on a whim so... we’ll see.
