Agnes Baker has the highest willpower in the game and this deck exploits that. She is vulnerable to not pulling her spells in a timely fashion but Arcane Initiate can help there (so long as she can make the ultimate sacrifice...quickly). In a three or four player game, Scrying is less useful so could be replaced.
With some XP, Agnes gets significantly better as her upgraded spells are quite efficient and the new XP cards are very good, e.g. Song of the Dead and Book of Shadows.

Apr 27, 2017It's a fair point! The only issue I have with using the Fire Axe for Agnes is that she would need to spend 2 resources to exceed the utility of the Baseball Bat so it's at best a wash on the first attack and realistically will be worse over time. With Song of the Dead available after the first scenario (with sufficient XP) swapping the bat or the axe for the spell probably makes the most sense. On the question of Emergency Cache I played Agnes quite a bit in the core scenarios and didn't feel the pinch so long as Forbidden Knowledge wasn't driving her completely insane. It might be worth swapping back in, probably for Scrying if you're in a 3-4 player game since the utility drops quite a bit. |
Might I suggest Fire Axe rather than Baseball Bat. I realise you have the hand slot free, but this might change as you upgrade. Fire Axe also lets you boost above +2, which might be important in a 2 character. With quite the high cost curve and no Emergency Cache you will be unlikely to put yourself out of range of the bonus damage. This will also mean you can get the Forbidden Knowledge/Fire Axe combo going for bigger enemies, with the bonus horror damage pip in the mix to boot!
