As @SGPrometheus says: Tony and Chuck, BFF

Chuck and Guardian events are pretty fun. But guess which other class also has Tactic and Trick events that they can play over and over and over again?

Card Choices

Compared to going Guardian, you sacrifice raw monster killing power for increased reliability. Mauser jammed? Improvise. Out of bullets? Here's a fast Act of Desperation at a ginormous attack bonus. Combo not in hand? Draw harder with Take Heart and Unrelenting.

And you do want to draw harder than normal because you'd prefer to discard Winging it and Improvised Weapon to play from the discard, and the only way you can do it is by exceeding your maximum hand size. Unlike actual survivors, you won't terribly mind playing them straight either. Turns out cards become a lot better when they're Fast and give an effective +3 bonus.

As for the rest, it's pretty standard. LCC for more consistent draw and because you're semi-competent at investigating with Winging It so you don't have spare actions for Decorated Skull. Sure Gamble as a tech for Frozen In Fear and other nasty Will treacheries. Easy Marks to thin your deck and give Chuck something to do when the game's going slow.

Upgrade Priorities

Overpower Unrelenting, then Leo De Luca Chuck. Weapons are next on the menu: Beretta M1918 might be interesting here over the Mauser as you have options when it jams, or you could do the same old Switchblade/Lupara/Timeworn Brand. If you didn't go with melee, Swift Reload would be a good idea over Watch This.

After guns, everything's pretty much the usual rogue luxury: your choice of Tristan Botley, Decorated Skull (3) or LCC (3), Relic Hunter, Gold Pocket Watches, Another Day, Another Dollar.
