We decided to start the Return to the Circle Undone campaign with 3 characters. My role was a pure fighter but I did not want to be dependent on the spells and I am quite sick of them as well. So my obvious choice was to bring Dexter into the party with firearms instead of spells.
The main idea was to put as many weapons as I can into the deck and boost the with some permanent boost.
Weapons:
- Hyperphysical Shotcaster - It has multiple use cases without any penalty.
- Enchanted Blade - The upgraded version can make 3 damages but it can be used for 1 damage without spending charges.
- Sword Cane - The ultimate evade tool for Dexter.
- .41 Derringer - The upgraded version gives you a free action.
- Garrote Wire - Free action again.
boost:
- Living Ink - The ultimate boost card with many options.
- Lonnie Ritter - Not just a boost, she is your damage/horror soak engine with Heavy Furs.
Permanent cards:
- Down the Rabbit Hole - In this deck, you don't need to introduce so many new cards into the deck (except Haste and Garrote Wire) so it is an obvious choice. At the end of the campaign, you won't lose as much xp as you win with it.
- Adaptable - Nice workaround for Down the Rabbit Hole, just replace a level 0 card in your deck with what you want to upgrade after it.
Always mulligan for: Living Ink, Lonnie Ritter, Enchanted Blade, Hyperphysical Shotcaster (use your will if you don't have boost at an earlier stage of the game), Scroll of Secrets.
