So, having gotten into Arkham of late and bought most of the packs (bar a few from Carcosa and Dream Eaters), I'm embarking on my first constructed deck. I've used mostly the recommended Core Set lists and the new Starter Decks but decided to stretch my wings and push past Night of the Zealot and give Dunwich a whirl.

Mystic has become my favourite class, I just love the sheer versatility of it and I always veer towards spell casters. Snagged a copy of Dark Revelations and I'm really taken with Gloria Goldberg, so plumped for her. The deck is geared towards Solo play (yay, lockdown) so I've had to go for a mix of damage dealing and Clue gathering. Plumped for Seeker for my splash, for no real reason other than it seemed fitting for a Writer.

Went for the combo of Shrivelling and Spectral Razor. Added a bonus Sword Cane for pinging off any last bits of health from an enemy (evading in a pinch is useful too if I'm not lucky drawing either of those). With regards to gathering clues, Gloria's already high Intellect paired with Alyssa should see me through.

Also added a few cards to take advantage of Gloria's unique ability; Scroll of Secrets, Alyssa Graham (and her lovely +1 Intellect bonus), Scrying and Parallel Fates. Gives me some insurance for Solo play too. Granted, there might be more than is needed there so I'll see how it plays out.

Add in Holy Rosary and Painkillers for a needed buff to Willpower and some healing

As I say, this is a first deck build for me, so any great suggestions are more than welcome! The deck I'll use in both Solo and Multiplayer, prefer to play more generalists than specialists so she can do both (if playing Multi, I'd likely just swap a couple of cards out such as Eureka! for Deduction to grab multiple clues).

Edit: I'm gonna swap out Holy Rosary for Crystal Pendulum. Both give me that +1 , and I know the card draw aspect is much more swingy when not run in Jacqueline Fine or without Olive McBride but the occasional card draw I think will see me better off than the extra Sanity buffer from the Rosary.

I agree that you probably have too much encounter deck control, especially for solo play. I’d cut half of it and replace those with some more enemy management and economy as your curve isn’t that low. Also, unless you’re using Scroll and Scrying on your deck, your card draw is Eureka. Maybe swap in Perception, Guts, Crystal Pendulum?

It’s built to maximize Gloria. Just needs a little of the fundamentals shored up.

@DarthJoJomany thanks! Yeah, I've been fairly lucky with getting Crack the Case out but maybe an extra card for economy would be useful. I'd probably ditch Parallel Fates perhaps for something like Preposterous Sketches or Perception (just to make sure I get those clues and snag an extra card). Granted, with the amount of deck manipulation I'm running, some of that would be used on my own deck so I can at least choose the more useful cards I'm drawing too.

I would consider St. Hubert's Key for her. Costs more than the Holy Rosary, but she is testing as much as , since you did not give her investigate spells. (Which she probably don't need anyway with her base 4 and Alyssa.)

Arcane Research would also be worthwhile with Shrivelling, Ward of Protection (5), Deny Existence and possibly Scrying. And as a permanent, it's not a deck space issue.
