Sgt. JIM CULVER

This is my first solo deck, I'm trying to make the best use of Winnie, Jim's second best friend. Sadly, Jim can't take Marksmanship nor Telescopic Sight for more theme-filled combo.

The idea behind this deck is using the Winchester to fight high health-valued ennemies. This is supported by Olive McBride for triple chance to hit the positive tokens and Jim Culver's ability.

The winchester can be refilled by a Scavenging and play over another again and again.

Backpack help you find your important items and thin out your deck. It is also recursive with scavenging.

Arcane slots won't be for fighting,

  • Your clue-getting is ensured by Sixth Sense, really efficient with Olive McBride. It's not a top priority as you have two of, you can get it from Arcane Initiate and your 3 is reasonnable for a start.
  • Mists of R'lyeh is here to compensate your low and be action efficient, ignoring non-elite non-hunter ennemies. The second one should arrive in hand if you ever need a refill. Olive McBride isn't recommended with it though.

Bandolier may not be great early campaign, but as soon as you'll have the Grotesque Statue(s), it will be a neat combo. 2 May be too many though, other outclass cards may be worthier.

Events are here to compensate your lack of preparation and accelerate damages and clues. Some protection against encounter deck witg Ward of Protection.

The deck is not cheap, that's why it runs double Emergency Cache and Uncage the Soul.

In the side deck, there are cards that can be into the deck. You can adapt if you need more clues, versatility or test boosts.

XPs

Grotesque Statue (2) as a priority

Backpack (2) early is good.

Upgrade Grotesque Statue (4)

Four of Cups (1)

Sixth Sense (4)

Charisma is always good.

The Black Cat because any chaos token isn't that bad after all.

Mists of R'lyeh (2) then Mists of R'lyeh (4)

Any card that can be upgraded.

Seal of the Elder Sign if you really need this shot.

Fun idea! Unfortunately Jim Culver's ability doesn't turn skulls into 0 tokens. It changes the skill modifier on skulls to 0, but it wouldn't make them trigger the Winchester's extra damage.

It's the taboo version of the Winchester which is "any non-negative modifier is revealed." It was changed so it could work with bless tokens. So I believe it does work like the OP intended. I think

Tobey is right, that's the idea behind it. Bless tokens work too I'm pretty sure, which makes another possibility of improving your .35 Winchester: if other investigators are filling the bag, you could play Favor of the Sun to ensure your shot.
