This deck leans hard into William Yorick's ability to pull assets out of the discard pile. One consequence is that I've avoided putting multiple copies of assets in the deck. Why have two Beat Cops if you can resurrect the one you sacrificed earlier? So this deck gets stronger and stronger as the scenario goes along and Yorick can pick from all the discarded assets when he dispatches the first enemy in a round.
But what happens if the cards you need are buried somewhere in the deck? The Nathaniel Cho starter deck has a partial solution: Glory. After defeating an enemy, you can draw two cards for the low price of a resource. It's another reason to play On the Hunt and combines well with Evidence!, Bury Them Deep and Yorick's ability.
In exchange, I removed Calling in Favors, which only draws one ally and only if you already have an ally. It's just too situational for a situation this deck isn't really tuned for. I also removed a Cherished Keepsake, which was the only item I'd taken two of. Once it's safely in the discard, I don't need another and Glory increases the chance I'll find it in the deck.
I also subbed out a Guard Dog for Grete Wagner. She is more expensive (5 resources compared to 2), but her ability to gather clues is a big addition to my entourage. There's an argument I will need to find space for Clean Them Out in order to pay for a more expensive deck. Would I give up "Look what I found!" or Lucky!? Not likely. So if I can't afford Grete as an ally, I will use her as a temporary skill boost ( or ) to save her in the discard for when I have the scratch.
It's just two cards added from the Nat Cho starter deck, but they fill in gaps with the previous version of the deck: card draw and more auto-clues. When upgrading, Cho gives us an upgraded Evidence! (1XP) and Overpower (2XP) (probably replacing Unexpected Courage). If you go the Will to Survive route, Galvanize becomes tempting since it can add another testless fight action. But this strays too far from into territory.
