“Are you seeing what I’m seeing, Leo?”
”Yes… Or… Maybe? Them flashes, right?”
To Jenny these were more akin to visions. She saw herself kicking in the door and immediately dodging to the left as the stalking monstrosity swept down on her. Her bullets shattered the exhibit glass, but did nothing against the shadow silhouette. Then the scene shifted and it was Dr. Armitage who opened the doors with herself behind his back, dynamite and lighter in hand. Again the scene repeated and this time she was alone and bloodied. The Jenny in her vision hesitated and didn’t open the door to the Restricted Exhibit at all. Next, she saw herself confidently twirling her Bengalese machete and sporting an amazing haircut. Then, she died torn limb from limb. Next, she died as the shadowy tendrils suffocated her. After that, she died. And once more.
Jenny shut her eyes and thankfully the visions stopped. She then opened her eyes and exchanged glances with Leo. The two of them still needed to get their hands on the Necronomicon. Jenny slowly pushed the door open.
The book was already pulled out of the exhibit and neatly placed on top of an ordinary reading desk, with an electric lamp shining light on it. More than that, the Necronomicon was bookmarked and on the bookmark itself there was an elaborate letter N.
“Hello?”
Jenny called out and her voice echoed in the museum halls. Neither she nor her friend knew of no one who would be in the habit of signing himself or herself as “N”.
“Hello?”
Still no answer. No monster either. Good for them.
That is one nice starting hand ^^
