An investigation set for Preston Fairmont in multiplayer mode. This deck allows you to survive crucial events and encounters while helping the team to collect clues.
Guide
Grow rich
-
Faustian Bargain helps you earn 5 resources immediately. (and let other investigators resolve the negative effect :P)
-
Use Friends in Low Places to search for all Easy Mark cards.
-
3x Easy Mark •
-
Play Easy Mark from your hand immediately only if you got more than 1 copy of it. (otherwise keep it in your hand)
Clue gathering
-
2x Old Keyring
-
Trigger Old Keyring to investigate with -2 shroud and intentionally fail for "Look what I found!" to gather 2 clues in 1 action. (This combos well with Rabbit's Foot and Take Heart to gain resources and draw cards)
-
2x Intel Report
-
Play Intel Report and pay to snipe up to 2 clues in 1 action.
Survive Mythos phase/ enemies attack
-
Play "You handle this one!" if you draw an enemy, pass it to your teammates then let them resolve it.
-
2x Money Talks
-
Money Talks and Well Connected are reliable for passing any skill test if you have at least 20 resources in your pool.
-
Cunning Distraction serves as a last resort to let you automatically evade any enemies. (Popular alternatives would be Elusive or Decoy but Elusive doesn't exhaust enemies and Decoy cannot evade elite enemies)
-
"I'm outta here!" is useful in certain campaigns but can totally be replaced by another Friends in Low Places if there is no scenario card with 'resign' in play. (or you are confident to survive til the end)
Other
-
2x Resourceful
-
Resourceful and Scrounge for Supplies can be used to scavenge used cards which provides flexibility for this deck. (You can scavenge "Look what I found!" and Intel Report if you want to get clues, or Money Talks if you need to pass a certain skill test, or you can even scavenge Take Heart or Friends in Low Places if you need more draws)
Upgrade
-
Charon's Obol - 2 additional XP is crucial for deck upgrade
-
Track Shoes → 2x Drawing Thin
-
Track Shoes - may seem redundant in this deck. (yes because it is used to combos an upgraded card Drawing Thin)
-
Refine - optional card to play in game. You can play it to upgrade Friends in Low Places, choose either versatile or clever (you saved 1 XP)

Oct 29, 2024Very grateful for your appreciation! I love the idea of the Flashlight and Sleight of Hand combos. Definitely prompts more probability for the success rate for investigation! I agree that "I'm outta here!" is a campaign-based card, it can totally be replaced by any card that is more efficient. Thank you for the advice and insights! x |
