IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I am not involved in the running of the worldwide blob. Please direct any question about it to the below link.

The regular Edinburgh Arkham LGC folk, including myself, have ran a couple of local Blob events recently and I typically make spare decks for newbies, or people without their own sets etc. With everyone indoors and a World Wide Blob on Table Top Simulator (TTS) in the planning (LINK HERE), I thought i would publish a few to help people interested in joining in.

THESE GUIDES ARE SPOILER FREE, and the decks are not specifically tailored for the Blob per se, but most have beaten it, and/or other standalones (Mainly Egypt and Hotel)at least once. They are at least designed to be easy to pilot, and resilient to certain Blob effects so no one has their core deck mechanic overly neutered by bad luck... unless its really bad luck ;)

The other decks can be found here

SOCIAL DISTANCING YORICK

This deck also uses the upcoming permanent version of On Your Own, previewed by FFG in this article, but as yet not on arkhamdb:

StartWithTheName

This brings the deck to a 29xp standalone, and is easily proxy`d using the existing version of On Your Own since they have the same ability, and there are no allies in it anyway.

A massively exaggerated powerhouse Yorick I made when a friend asked me how to show him why yorick was "so broken". The deck uses the interaction between Eucatastrophe, Old Hunting Rifle and Yorick's , to give you a 3 damage rifle that never jams and almost never misses (see notes), paid for by On Your Own. s allow you to reload Old Hunting Rifle by replacing it with the other copy, or via Act of Desperation, while light cluing is provided by Eucatastrophe and/or "Look what I found!". Finally Police Badge recursion, enable the ever entertaining mutli-action turns whenever we can spare the cash.

A quick warning - This is right at the higher end of the power spectrum just now, and a little exploitative. So be aware that you may be making your (and other peoples) game much less challenging by using a ringer. It is however absolutely fine, and a lot of fun, to kick back and play a powerhouse sometimes if everyone is on board with it. I also wouldn't recommend this deck for new players. It may set bad expectations of performance, and while its a bit of a wrecking ball it at least takes a bit effort to pilot well and can be prone to running out of cash if you dont plan your turn out.

TIPS:

Eucatastrophe means your Rifle doesnt Jam. With the Rifle, both &s autofail tests, and when you do that you treat it as if your skill was zero - letting you play Eucatastrophe. Since Eucatastrophe then replaces the token as if an was drawn, the jam text never activates. You now never jam.

Yoricks means Eucatastrophe can be returned to hand when played It gets discarded after the token is replaced (ie before checking for a successful test) and is in the bin in time for your text to pick a card. So the Eucatastrophe that created the can be used to traget Eucatastrophe so long as you can afford it, which is at least once a turn with On Your Own

draw hard until you get the combos The deck has a lot of draw to find the Rifle. Use Self-Sacrifice on a comrades benign test like an investigate action. Or investigate a high shroud with the intention of failing to trigger Take Heart (note that Drawing Thin can help you fail)

Discard Assets for Pips With the exception of your first weapon (which should be played asap from hand so you can get killing) try to install assets with your . This means you can get value from their pips. Note Police Badge can be .

Police Badge provides extra actions Once you have the rifle going, keep 3 resources back to reload (ie play the other copy from discard over it on a kill). Spend the rest on Police Badges since your events are mostly free. Each give 2 actions a pop, and can be carried over between rounds. Note that the most actions you can take in a round is 9, start with 2 in play, recur one once. My record is 7, but I have had people tell me theyve managed the full house.

Drawing Thin doesn't say if the test is successful. *You get the money before the test, not for passing. Use it on a Track Shoes on any move, or just investigate accepting you will fail. You can also use it on Old Hunting Rifle shots when you are way above target if it looks like you can pass it despite the +2. Notice a lot of your key assets cost 3. That can be 1 upkeep and 2 from Drawing Thin/Take Heart.

You can clue, but it needs LWIF" or Eucatastrophe Your skill value cannot go below zero during a test. That is to say, if you investigate a shroud 2, and draw a -4, your skill for the test is 0, which is 2 below the test strength, so you can play "Look what I found!". Still this means that your 2 lets you easily pass up to shroud 4 with Eucatastrophe since the gives you +2. You only fail if you draw higher than -2... which weird but the good weird so lets not complain!

VARIANTS/FAQs:

Want to add some team healing? Swap out a Enchanted Blade & some Resourcefuls for Solemn Vows. Then simply use the vows to put damage/horror onto Leather Coat & Cherished Keepsakes. This doesnt work as well with the Bandolier variant for Blob.

Not playing Blob? Swap out a a Bandolier for a second Leather Coat. If you are playing blob, just trust me that the Bandolier is worth a slot.

Drawing Thin is Flexible XP, Resourcefuls are flexible slots Swap about to taste. Other good targets are Safeguard, another Marksmanship, Will to Survive, another Relic Hunter, "I've had worse…", Gravedigger's Shovel (2) or frankly any toy that takes your fancy. It is a game after all - have fun!

"Drawing Thin does say if the test is successful." Do you mean does NOT say if the test is successful?

Hey, nice idea! I looked for a deck using the Old Hunting Rifle and this makes perfect use of it. Is there a version, that starts with 0 XP, though? I'm not that experienced and I would love a starter deck and an upgrade path to the core.

Hey @StartWithTheName, what would you suggest for this deck now that Eucatastrophe has been tabooed?

Thanks in advance!

(PS I really enjoyed Nervous Wrecking Yorick, all your notes and your blog pots on bag mechanics.)
